The mission of The Free Reading Program will continue.
Helping bring literacy learning to children and learners facing poverty, displacement and other significant barriers to education remains at the heart of The Free Reading Program. Going forward, the program will focus its resources on a small number of humanitarian organizations and projects where access can have the greatest impact.
Humanitarian and nonprofit organizations, charities, and community-based projects whose work aligns with the literacy mission of The Free Reading Program may be considered where a genuine need can be demonstrated. General access is no longer available. Schools in North America are not eligible. Schools and school-based organizations elsewhere may be considered only where a clear and exceptional humanitarian need exists.
A new application and review process is currently being finalized. Please check back soon for information about how eligible humanitarian organizations and projects may request consideration.
The Free Phonics Program also remains completely free and available to schools, families, humanitarian programs and community organizations without requiring FRP access.
